Hi, I'm Tatiana.
I've been through many turns in my life. Some were sharp, some were gradual and I didn't see a bend in the road. But the most interesting and challenging thing happened to me when almost a decade ago I decided to come and live in this beautiful country. Looking back I realize how adventurous it was.
I had over 20 years of experience in hairdressing industry, pretty basic English skills and heaps of confidence in my bag.
I dreamed of opening my own hair salon. The first step was to get a local certificate and I decided to take an exam. It was a challenge, I must admit. I tried to impress the teachers in one-syllable words using all my artistic skills. It worked like magic and I got the recognition as well as Certificate III in Hairdressing. It was enough to start testing the waters. The best way to do it was to try myself in real life in a proper salon. So I dived into it.
It was a very important experience for me as I worked side by side with professionals of different levels and backgrounds. I figured out what was worth doing and what I should better avoid in future. At some point I realized that I was ready for a solitary voyage and opening a home salon would be the right thing to do.
In my view, I won't need to look for a parking in a big shopping mall and it would keep me from spending money on unnecessary stuff while walking through the shops.
In 2016 my husband and I were discussing building a new house for our new life and one of the conditions was that I would have a dedicated space for a hair salon of my dream. It was ideal for me. A spacious and beautiful hair place located in Dover gardens, 5 minute walk from Marion shopping centre. And I wouldn't ever need to leave my house for that. My only concern was if it would look professional enough from inside and outside.
The time showed that it had worked out fantastically well. My first clients were mostly Russian speaking women and their husbands. We had a lot of fun. Not long after, my neighbours joined the party. I am eternally grateful to them for that, as their first impulse was to support local business. I hope they fell in love with me and my job very quickly. But, frankly speaking, I think that they simply noticed how passionate and commited I was and am about my job. It is very rewarding to see my beautiful clients happy.
I can't tell you for sure what I enjoy doing the most in my work - cuts or colour. But I am pretty confident that you won't appreciate the colour without a good shape, and you won't be able to create style and fashion without perfect hair. All is important and every detail counts.
Not long ago, another hairdresser, who is also very passionate about hair and style, joined the salon.
Guess, what her name is. Yes, you are right. Her name is Tatiana.
She is not just an ordinary apprentice or helping hand. She is an artist of her own.
Tatiana shares my vision and approach to hairdressing.
She is excellent with kid's.
Older boys won't be disappointed as well.
In 2019 my salon was awarded with Keune Colour Expert Award which is very valuable for me and boosting my confidence.
But I never stop, I keep learning every day and always strive for more.
I am happy with my clients base now but I am always up for new adventures.
Don't be shy. Come and join us.
